What is the difference between a 5th generation apple ipod classic and a 5.5 generation classic apple ipod?
Q. I am thinking about getting either a 5th generational ipod or a 5.5 generation ipod classic. What is the difference? Any experience with one or the other or possibly both? Which one should I get? Thanks!
Asked by Melissa S - Fri Feb 1 10:16:44 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The 5th gen and 5.5 gen are essentially the same, but the 5.5 gen has a brighter screen and it also includes a small search function (to quickly find songs/albums/artists/etc. on the iPod). The classic is 6th gen. It's got a slightly different design (more rounded) and the screen designs are a little different. The main difference between the 5th and 6th gens is the space. 5th gens hold 30GB or 60GB, and 6th gens hold 80GB or 160GB. Good luck choosing =D

What 5 albums do you think give the most complete view of hip hop?
Q. If someone had never heard any hip hop before and you had to try to explain it to them using only 5 albums, which ones would you choose? (and no adding extras, stick to just 5) Explain your choices too if you can.

A. hmm...i would try an "evolution of hip hop" approach, showing them the best of each era and how hip hop got to where it is today chronologically 1) Paid In Full - Eric B & Rakim 2) It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back - Public Enemy 3) Straight Outta Compton - NWA 4) Buhloone Mindstate - De La Soul 5) Arrhythmia - Antipop Consortium while some of them may not necessarily be the best albums, i think that they give the best impression of each type of hip hop over the years. some are better for hip hop neophytes (i.e. Buhloone Mindstate) while others are more complex (i.e. Arrhythmia) (kind of a big leap between Buhloone Mindstate and Arrhythmia and im leaving out a lot of stuff before Paid In Full (most notable Run DMC), but its… [cont.]

A. This is obviously a Model/RC airplane we could go into pages and pages of explanations but this site should answer all your questions . There is also a neat propeller chart on there you can use.

How similiar are 4 string and 5 string bass guitars when learning?
Q. I recently got a 5 string bass guitar and was planning on teaching myself until next year. However, I have found that most of the online lessons are for four strings. Is there must difference in the method? If so what are the main differences and is it ok to learn from one of the 4 string lessons on a 5 string? If anyone could supply a link to 5 string bass guitar online free lessons that would help. Thanks.

A. The difference in the method is that you've got two or three more low notes per scale. Just learn what they are, per key. Map out the notes on paper, then memorize that graph. Sublimate the repeating patterns that make up "musical structure."

How many medium eggs are 5 large ones?
Q. I've my boyfriend's parents coming over in a bit for dinner and I'm not sure if there's a big difference between medium eggs and large eggs. 5 large eggs, says the recipe. Can I use 5 medium or should I add one more medium egg? I'm cooking a flourless chocolate cake. It's supposed to be really easy so I'm hoping I can't eff this up. Why is it that I can spot a tiny flaw in a contract and save my client several million, but I can't cook?

A. It really wouldn't matter at all because in most recipes eggs are used to keep things held together otherwise it may crumble and fall a part into pieces very easily, but this would depend on what your cooking. But i'd go for 6 medium eggs. They said large eggs for a reason :)

Q. I have question regarding the the signal trasmission of a 5.1 channel encoded sound.Ideally,to transmit 5 channel sound,it needs 5 cables for each channel. But today in DVDs there is only one coaxial digital output or optical output which will carry 5.1 channel sound to receiver. A. There is a thing called a "Codec" and Dolby labs came up with one called "AC3". It takes 6 channels of audio analog sound, compresses each channel and puts it into a single stream of data that can be pulled apart and decoded at the other end back into 6 channels. It was fairly high-quality and Dolby tried to make money selling it on professional quality sound cards for production studios. But the MPEG specifications did similar work and was public domain so it was a lot cheaper. ($125/card license fee to Dolby). So people started flocking to Mpeg instead of AC3. So when they were trying to decide the sound format for HDTV - Dolby offered it's AC3 or "Dolby Digital" sound compression routines to the committee and it was adopted as the… [cont.]

What are 5 ways that the plasma membrane deals with materials?
Q. What are 5 different ways that the plasma membrane (cell part) can deal with materials? How does it deal with materials in it or outside it? Please help!

A. 1. Hydrophobic molecules (Hydrocarbons and Oxygen) can cross with ease because they can dissolve in the lipid bi layer. 2. Small polar (uncharged) molecules will pass (water and carbon dioxide). 3. Large polar (uncharged) molecules will not pass (sugar). 4. Ions will not readily pass (H+, Na+, Cl-). 5. Large external materials can be taken in by the cell via endocytosis. 6. Large internal materials can be released by the cell via exocytosis.

How do you determine 5 years to apply for citizenship?
Q. I'm wondering. I know that we have to stay in US for 5 years or more to apply for citizenship. But, does 5 years counted exactly from the date we became a US resident, or just roughly from the year we became a resident ( 5 days before 5 exactly 5 years ok to apply)? Thank you for your response...
Asked by poordoggie - Mon Jun 25 17:31:13 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Look at the date you became permanent resident by looking at your green card and it is stated right there on top of where it says expiration of green card date. You calculate 5 years from that date (not the date you actually might have received the physical card in the mail). It is essentially your green card application was formally approved. You can only apply three months prior to becoming eligible.

What is the distemper/parvo 5 way vaccine they give dogs sometimes called boosters?
Q. I want to know what is in the 5 way vaccine boosters. I know it protects them from parvo, and then one is a bordetella, but what is the distemper? Does the 5 way vaccine mean there are five different things the shots protects the puppy from?

A. Bordetella is a vaccine all by itself. The 5 way DHLPP vaccine is for distemper, hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus. There is also another vaccine often used that is the DA2PP and that covers Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza. Different vets in different areas usually use different vaccines for diseases that are prevalent in the area. I know in many areas they just use the DHPP vaccine since Lepto isn't something that is commonly an issue.
