Quilt art, sometimes known as art quilting, is an art form that uses traditional quilting techniques to create art objects. Practitioners of quilt art create it based on their experiences, imagery, and ideas rather than traditional patterns. Quilt art generally has more in common with the fine arts than it does with traditional quilting. This art is meant to be hung on a wall, though exceptions exist.

A. How about a timeline collage demonstrating the changes in American during that period? Between Columbus discovery of the New World and the Presidency of Grover Cleveland, you saw the colonizing of America, its revolution, creation of the Constitution, and Westward expansion. On the technological side, you had railroads, electric lighting, the invention of the scissors you will probably use in part to make the collage, the pocket watch, the calendar, steam engine, telescopes/microscopes. You can also examine the changes in art, social attitudes, etc. The big advantage of a collage is you can do so many things with it to make it visually appealing from the simple (cutting out/pasting pictures representing items) to the trickier (drawing/pain [cont.]

What's the best "trash to treasure" item you've ever recovered from a neighbor's curb on garbage day?
Q. My 3 best: A quilt rack shelf that I painted black. It is the centerpiece for my living room wall with all my french poster art. A large Bissell Shampoo Vaccum. I gave it the lady who cleans my office who is starting her own cleaning company. She was thrilled. 2 very comfy lawn chairs! I don't make it a habit of combing the curbs, nor am I a hobo :) FYI :)

A. I have found two T.V.'s perfect condition, work great, I found the most beautiful doll house, complete with a large baggie full of the little people and furniture!! I gave it to my niece, and she plays with it to this day!! Bird cages, a nice bookshelf, and a large fruitcake tin full of the most beautiful, old fashoined buttons. But I would have to say my luckiest find was a complete set of China!! Actual China so thin you can almost see through it!! God I love living in a apartment complex. It seems like I find things all the time.
