How to show in Art Galleries?
Q. I have some personal art that I would like to show at an art gallery, but I do not know how. I have a complete portfolio of all my works too. I've also made business cards. This is my first approach at showing at an art gallery though. I've been to the gallery and it is a really nice place with a lot of nice pieces. It is one of those folk art galleries that will accept any piece as long as it is good. How do I go about showing in the gallery?

A. well you could try getting your foot in the door by put asking to put your art in ice cream parlors or comic book conventions anywhere that will hang up your art even if it isn't an actual gallery it will help you get noticed and maybe they will ask for references you can use people such as the people you allowed to hang your art and that might help you out

what does "what is your personal interpretaion of what the work means?' mean?
Q. i need help with this question which was asked my art teacher for an art gallery review.. i have no idea what it means. am i supposed to give my personal interpreation of the painting i chose? and if yes then how does a personal interpretation work? and if im supposed to explain what a personal interpretation means, WHAT does it mean?

How do I find an "art agent" to represent me?
Q. My work in bronze is done in a very unique way. I would like to find an agent or gallery to represent and promote my work. www.ghbronze.com This would not be limited to Canada but the US as well as Europe. I ship my work and produce new work on a monthly basis and have sold my work independently as well as through galleries. These are life-size pieces that can be exhibited inside or outside as well as made personal for private commissions. Thanks for your suggestions Gabrielle

A. I know that here in the US most artists that are just starting out and trying to establish their work will go to one or two galleries to represent them and help get their name out there. If you dont have any galleries near you...you might need to try going to a bigger city and try there. Ask the galleries you contact if they deal in sculpture as well as paintings. Make sure they are willing to promote your work not only IN gallery but online and possibly in print as well. The larger galleries will do all three.
