The6 photographer has to know when and where his subject will be. he has to know how to position and conceal himself. It is he that makes the decisions as to what piece of equipment will do the job. The photojournalist has to look at the human side of every photograph he takes. A digital camera, no matter how sophisticated, cannot know what will bring out the emotion of an audience. I break cameras down into 4 classes: 1) P&S - the thousands of different cameras sold for the snapshooter. You just point and click and a picture is taken. used by just about everyone who just wants a snapshot and doesn't care about the technical side of photography. 2) SLR/DSLR - 35mm or APS-C sized cameras, very portable. Used by just about every professional for a wide range of reasons. Can go from the smallest of sizes to very large(20x30) will little trouble.
