Yarn is produced by spinning raw wool fibres, linen, cotton, or other material on a spinning wheel to produce long strands. Textiles are formed by weaving, knitting, crocheting, knotting, or pressing fibres together (felt). The words fabric and cloth are used in textile assembly trades (such as tailoring and dressmaking) as synonyms for textile. However, there are subtle differences in these terms in specialized usage. But sheets are expensive to buy so I need to know what kinds of fabric work best, and also what kinds of fabric would anyone recommend for different seasons? I was getting the T-shirt material King Size sheet sets for 20 dollars... comes in black, white, gray, blue and red at Target. Don't know if you have one in your area though. With this set I got flat sheet, fitted sheet and 2 pillow cases. Flat was perfect for backdrops, and the fitted along with the pillow cases did great for covering props etc. I also found the same material sheet set at another store for 25 dollars and use it for green screen shoot. Q. i want to make some reusable shopping bags, but i dont know what type of fabric to use. i want them to be durable, but also easily washable, so i wasnt sure if just cotton fabric would be ok, or if i should use something else. i dont want it to be a real bulky fabric either (i know it depends on the size of the bag) but something that can fold up nicely to carry in my purse. thanks for any suggestions! Upholstery and drapery fabric does not wash well. Denim and duck cloth are a bit boring. If you decide on muslin, make sure it is the not the cheap, thin variety.
