Q. I saw on the Tudors, Henry VIII tipping a servant this amount and wanted to know its approximate value at the time. What would its value be in today's terms?

A. Hard one to answer - The gold coinage of Henry VIII may be divided into five classes, differing from each other in various particulars of type, weight, and fineness of metal. The first class began at the beginning of his reign; the second in his 18th year, 1526; the third in his 35th year, 1543; the fourth in his 36th year, 1544; and the fifth in his 37th year, 1545. The first gold sovereign under Henry VII in 1489 had the value of one pound sterling. For the first 16 years of Henry VIII s reign coinage followed the pattern of previous issues. In 1526, in an effort to prevent the drain of gold to continental Europe, the value of English gold was increase by 10%, the sovereign up to 22s 0d. A. by playing God his creation killed the people close to victor (including Henry) Because victor rejected the monster, the monster begain his mission to make victor as missierable as he was. The characters are examples of inocent people who loved victor dearly and because of his inability to let his work go and enjoy his life with them he was punished. So i beleive they help illistrate that we need to appreicate the things we have and be careful of what we pursue.

What could happen if a person who was a member of King Henry 8th court had immortaility and was still alive?
Q. This is probably an odd question but I would like to know what could happen if a man lived during the 16th century at the time of King Henry 8th as a courtier who had links with the king, and had eternal life through something he had done? How would he adapt to each century change? This is for an arts project I am doing, and have been asked to draft together a fantasy story from the 16th century to 2001.. Any input would be most helpful. Many thanks.

A. It s an interesting assignment! Actually, Tanya Huff wrote a series of books where one of the main characters is a vampire called Henry Fitzroy who was, in fact, the illegitimate son of Henry VIII. In the story, he became a vampire and still lives today. I think that someone who is immortal would adapt to change as time went on, much as we today adapt to changes in technology. We don t really notice as the years pass; we update our videos to DVD players, etc, get mobile phones which do more and more as the science advances, and generally go with the flow. It would be different if a 16th century courtier were to be uprooted from his time and plonked in the middle of another century. That would take a lot of adapting, as he would… [cont.]
