Q. Why did Nascar decide to not let the trucks get tires and fuel on the same stop? I can't figure out how it saves them money and it sure doesn't make the racing any better. Whatever the reason I hope Nascar is not testing this out in the truck series to see if it will work in the Nationwide or CUP series. In my opinion this stupid rule does not actually serve the function it is supposed to. Only at the cup level do you see pit crew specialists and that's just in the last couple of years and on just a few teams. Most every guy on a pit crew serves some other function and the race day pit duties are just a small part of their job. I guess it might save a little bit if you can leave an extra guy or 2 back at the shop and not have to pay for food and lodging over the weekend but the extra stops only makes the potential for problems greater.
