How to connect yarn to an existing knitting project?
Q. Here's the situation: I'm knitting my very first scarf. Now because this is the very first thing I've knitted, I'm running out of yarn to finish my scarf. I could take the project apart and start fresh with the right amount I'm sure. It's just that, well I've already done that. Don't want to do it again :o( How do I connect more yarn to my little project?

A. the most invisible way to add yarn in is to split the threads at the end of each piece you are going to join. and mesh them all together, push the "v"s together like this < > , then twist the yarn till it twists itself up on itself, it should look like one piece of yarn.

How to use new yarn without tangling it?
Q. I have just bought three skeins of yarn from a store on south street that sells many hand-dyed lots and such. It's great yarn, but the first one I opened was all looped around and tied. When I untied it, it instantaneously formed a GIANT tangled mess which took me forever to undo. How do I use the yarn without falling into the same trap?

A. You need to wind it into a ball before you start knitting. Get someone to hold the loops over their hands while you wind
